Immigrant Investor Scheme
Any person who is either an EEA/EU or Swiss national enjoys the right to work in Ireland as an employee, or be self-employed and a visa to work or live in Ireland is not then required.
An individual from the U.K. who wishes to work in Ireland enjoys the right to work or live within the Common Travel Area. The U.K. Immigration and Social Security C-ordination EU Withdrawal Act 2020 maintains this right.
One way for a non EEA/EU/ Swiss national to be self-employed in Ireland is vis a vis the Immigrant Investor Programme.
This programme is available to non EEA (European Economic Area) persons who invest at least 1 million euro from the applicants own resources, not connected with a loan, and the applicant must commit to Ireland for a minimum of three years.
The enterprise can be an established business or a new business created by the investor. It must be headquartered in Ireland and it should create employment.
It is the individual investor not the corporate entity in whose name the investment is made.
