General Work Permit News

In relation to General Employment Permits it has been announced the quota on positions regarding bricklayers and plasterers has been abolished.

This is to assist labour market supply in the construction sector.

As of April 2022 new applications could not be accepted for meat processing operatives as the quota had been filled. This quota limit has now been extended to 425 meat processing operatives.

Significant demand exists for specific occupations in Ireland which have difficulty being filled by the local labour force, therefore recruitment from outside the EEA area can plug the gap to meet the skill demand in the state.
