Eyelid Surgery (Blepharoplasty) Claims

Blepharoplasty is a surgical procedure which removes excess skin, fat or muscle and can be performed under general anesthesia or local anesthesia with sedation.

This procedure involves incisions along the creases of the upper eyelid or lower eyelid margin.

A Transconjunctival blepharoplasty is a surgical procedure which deals with the lower eyelids.

The surgeon will need to have the proper training and requisite skill to carry out this procedure.

The patient is entitled to a standard of care when undertaking this procedure.

An adequate assessment before surgery will need to have occurred. The patient should be advised of any risks which may be relevant.

Errors can occur due to inadequate assessments, a lack of informed consent, surgery errors, an anaesthesia error, or an aftercare issue.

Evidently the medical provider performing the surgery should have the necessary skill and qualifications.
