The Minister for Justice has announced that nationals of Honduras, Dominica, Vanuatu will need to obtain a visa before travelling to Ireland.
The live effect of this decision is the 7th of March 2024. Also, a transit visa will be needed if the person is travelling through Ireland to another destination.
The Minister announced “This is a carefully considered decision taken which will bring Ireland into closer alignment with the visa regime in the United Kingdom and the Schengen area.”
Bolivian nationals require a visa since September of 2023.
It was also announced that a visa requirement was now not required for diplomatic passport holders of Indonesia, Kuwait, Montenegro, Moldova, Türkiye, Colombia, Peru, Georgia and Qatar.
A visa requirement for a holder of an official passport, public affairs passport or service passport has been removed, if the person is accompanying a Minister of the Government who is on an official visit.
