If the person purchases the travel ticket and then applies, they will put a lot of pressure on themselves and the person should await receipt of the visa application outcome firstly.
An approximate timeframe to obtain a decision is 8 weeks but it can take longer.
It is important to have all of the documentation arranged and presented correctly.
This includes passport photographs not more than 6 months old, a letter of application, the letter of acceptance from the educational entity, evidence of academic ability, level of English/Irish, finances, medical insurance, evidence of fees paid, passport and previous passport, information about any previous visa refusals, evidence dealing withy any gaps in educational history etc.
